Belated House Tour

Feast your eyes on an exciting visual tour of the Horbal/Raftery Abode. (That's right. Horbal is listed first in the official title of our home.) Yeah, yeah, I know you know what a house consists of... a couple of bedrooms, a couple of bathrooms. BUT... be prepared to be dazzled. Let us enter through the front door:

We begin downstairs, in the living room. Note the ever-presence of two laptops and a dog. JP is in his favorite (and only position). Can you find him?:

In our "open floor plan" the dining room is connected directly to the living room. Here you will see the location where Raftery serves me all my meals to the relaxing sounds of Maddy incessantly barking:

From the living room, we enter the kitchen, where Raftery prepares said meals and the cat enjoys his own, atop the refrigerator. This is also the sight of doggie discipline, as Maddy is terrified of the sound of the drawer under the oven slamming:

We'll briefly peak in on the half bath, located to the left of the fridge. Nothing to see here... except a Bob Day original.

From here we will see two views of our outdoor space. The first is a faulty panorama, but it gives a good sense of how the yard looks. The second is a nicer picture.

We've now seen all of the expansive downstairs. Let's travel to the second floor. Here is our hallway/staircase. During the live tour, Raftery will tell you "... and this is all Meghan's crap."

We'll bare left first, in the "Guest Sweet", featured in my first post, but recorded again here for the sake of clarity. The surf board is intended to protect Karen and Ryan's bed.

Here is a new view, of our lovely seating area. Gee, long distance friends, wouldn't you love to relax in this cozy corner?

This is your luxurious bathroom, en suite, of course. It is also the most difficult room in the world to photograph so here are two views.

View 1 features my photography skills because I managed to keep myself out of the picture despite the giant mirror:

View 2 features the infamous "No Puffin Please" anti-smoking sign, a favorite of my collection of invaluable valuables. Mikey and Sarah, you'll be happy to know that the drain is repaired and a shower is now much more pleasant now that the sand is removed:

This room also features a stuffed-to-the-gills walk-in closet, which I will not be featuring here, as it contains all my worldly teacher-related possessions and, as my mom says... "This is a waste of a perfectly good closet.". I will not shame her by showing it here. Ps. The first sentence in this paragraph has to have set a record for the most hyphens in a sentence ever.

Next is our office, also known as JP's room, which is also difficult to photograph in one picture, so here you have view one, my prized possession... the greatest yard sale find desk of all time. The printer will be removed when my classroom stuff is removed (It overflows into this room too, as well as the attic. It's amazing how much stuff you can accumulate in 4 years of teaching.) Bonus points if you can identify the significance of the poster:

Another favorite of mine is the giant bookshelf, filled with Horbal/Raftery memorabilia. Can you spot anything you recognize?

The next room is the master bedroom, painted "Shagreen" (yes, that is the real name of the color). Curtains are on their way, purchased but not hung. Raftery pinky swore they would be done by the time I return from Tim and Sara's wedding:

The master bathroom also is shown in two shots. This ones shows my favorite bench that is slowly being destroyed by the pets:

The second, once again, features my amazing ability to stay out of mirror pictures:

And with that, we end our tour. It's boring, but it's a part of my life. JP is comfortable here at least, for all those who were worried. Proof:
