Home of Tater and the Tots

Raf and I took a break from creating our Guitar Hero persona's to create this new home tour for our few family and friends that have not managed a visit yet this summer. Here she is... 720 Hecate Drive.

We will enter via the driveway, where we can stop to admire my beautiful car. The garage is detached, so we will walk past it to the front door and courtyard, where most of Ocean Lakes keeps their (free) trash cans hidden and possibly also grows marijuana.

We open the front door to see the foyer, which leads upstairs on the right and to the kitchen on the left.

Kitchen, to the left... probably our favorite room in the house.

Straight ahead we find the "great room", although our dining room table is now in the kitchen so it is mostly a living room.

Still some finishing touches to be done in this room, but it is getting there and we are pleased to have our entire couch put together in one piece. Straight through the living room is Maddy's new fenced backyard, which faces some woods and a lake so there are no neighbors directly behind us. Bonus us.

And now we head upstairs.

First we'll check out the guest room, which is to the left of the stairs. We use this room as guest quarters, cat accommodations, and an office.

There is also an attached guest bathroom.

Now let's head to the master bedroom.

Please focus your attention on the gorgeous new bedding and not on Raf's dirty shorts. Here is our unnecessarily large master bathroom.

Can you spot the Kevin in these pictures?

So this is our new humble abode. We're glad to be settled and are now accepting reservations for the end of the summer season if anyone is interested in a little pre-wedding visit!

Time or Temperature?

This picture represents a game we played several times this week... time or temperature?

We had quite the week, with a visit from Tim and Sara and Raf and I traveling to Atlantic City and Raleigh respectfully.

Tim says "Well, you see, frogs came from an aboriginee place... it's science." Both Meases claim that they are not beach people, so we only spent one hot day there.  You know, for a guy named "Glasses", Raf sure did look silly when he lost his:

We enjoyed some adult beverages at our new favorite beach front watering hole... The Tap House.

We also enjoyed a great Lazy Thursday. Even Maddy got in on it:

It was a great visit overall. The day the Meases left, Raf and I headed out of state for our own trips. While the boys were doing this...

... Haylie and I were in the car on the way to Raleigh with these.

Haylie's brother was hosting a corn hole tournament so we decided to try our hand at a big league game. We got there a bit early so he could set up and watched a guy edit the menu board after many mispellings:

Here's the boss himself:

And the complimentary bucket of beer:

We also had a minor celebrity sighting... Gary from Teen Mom (or maybe not, but close enough). Excuse the hazy paparazzi photos. We were trying not to get sued or beat up.

Here's the arena. Haylie and I got 3rd place out of 16 teams, by the way... despite the cheater face.

Here are the rules that only SOME chose to follow...

And some of Haylie's adoring fans. most of whom were named Drew apparently:

This would be Haylie's perspective of the bonfire we went to afterward...

After an eventful weekend, no arrests were made and everyone returned home unharmed. Raf and I have been enjoying the last few days of summer vacation before school starts up again by getting things done around the house (photos coming soon... maybe tomorrow?) and relaxing. Tonight we watched the girls while Karen and her anonymous husband went to Elizabeth Psimas' kickoff mayoral campaign debut party. We are clearly not ready for children, as this is how Brynn ended up within the first hour:
